Many users don’t use the official apps of their favorite web services. For example, Facebook. It makes use of some heavy background processes to make the app fully functional. This effect drains the phone’s battery, which is the biggest reason some entry-level phone users don’t use it. So that is why I have bring to you how to create lite version of apps. The app used to do this is called Hermit.
It’s technically a web browser with full freedom of customization. It allows you to customize a web service to make an app of your own. Hermit creates a shortcut with an icon of the web service on the home screen of the launcher. You can use this shortcut as a stand-alone app which can be customized to the fullest. And best of all, it’s lightweight. It makes use of the URL of the service to browse the content. It’s basically a web browser that can be completely customized to create your own standalone lite version of a web service
How to use the Hermit app
- Download and install the Hermit app on you mobile device DOWNLOAD HERE
- We will start by making the lite version of Facebook normally you would need to pay for a premium version after creating two lite app but since this is the moded version there will be no need to pay
- Open the create page it os like a green cross now you will see app that the Hermit app already support but as I said we will create lite version for Facebook
- Now tap on add automatically but because of it is already a supported app by Hermit it will name it self
HOW TO CREATE LITE VERSION WITH A CUSTOM URL
I will be making a lite version app for my blog follow the steps and do it your self
- Add a url you would like to use
- Click on settings and select create lite version app
- Now name the app and the url
- click on add to screen and click create
- Like that you have created a lite app for your self
